Once there lived a sheep. It lived a good life, took care of itself, gazed well and had a disciplined lifestyle. Every two months it grew a load of wool upon itself and proudly offered its wool to the master to be sheared. It said to itself, I have sacrificed my wool to the master and went back to its self-willed disciplined life justifying itself.

Romans 12:

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

From the above verses we understand that

1. God expects us (the whole) to be the sacrifice and not just a part (wool).
2. To know if we have given Him the wool or the all, we need to know the will of God for us.

Now, the wool is important but the wool is not all that the master needs.

The wool in your life could be anything, the tithe, the fastings, organising church activities...

Let us examine our lives in God's presence to be renewed in our minds that we will know God's perfect will and also surrender ourselves completely as living sacrifices. For the wool is not the all.
